CONSOL Energy maintains a fleet of 21 line haul towboats, 6 harbor tugs and more than 600 barges of various sizes.  The company’s operations allow it to safely and efficiently transport coal and other products from river load out facilities to customers along the Monongahela, Allegheny, Kanawha, and Ohio Rivers.

CONSOL River Operations also operates as a common carrier offering towing service and fleeting for third party barges.  Additionally, CONSOL Energy loads coal from rail cars into barges at its Alicia Transshipment Facility located at mile post 58, Monongahela River.

The Alicia Facility is served by both the NS and CSX railroads.  A recent expansion has made it possible for Alicia to handle 130 car trains through its rotary dump.  Currently, 7.5 million tons of capacity.
